We Love Merthyr
One of Merthyr Tydfil's most popular annual events is back! The Chilli & Chocolate Festival takes over Penderyn Square for a day celebrating everything fiery and indulgent. Expect over 100 artisan producers from across the UK — from award-winning hot sauces and chilli pastes to handcrafted chocolates, Welsh cakes, brownies and ice cream. Past favourites like Choppy's Chilli Pantry, Chef Bernie's Sauces and The Artisan Cook regularly attend alongside new vendors. The legendary Asbestos Mouth chilli eating contest returns for those brave enough to take on the heat. Family entertainment runs throughout the day with face painting, balloon modelling, glitter tattoos and live music performances. Onsite food stalls mean you can eat your way around the world without leaving the square. Town centre parking is just £1 for the full day. Free admission — all welcome.
The monthly artisan and farmers market on Merthyr High Street — homemade crafts, local produce, fresh food and artisan goods from producers within 50 miles. Free entry. First Friday of every month.
